Creative Writing
A course that covers the main techniques of writing utilising a blend of workshops, class discussion and teaching. Designed for both novice and intermediate writers of fiction, the techniques and practices discussed will be common to both short story and novel writing.
| Day 1: | Getting going / Telling the story | Icebreakers, discussion of writing aims and how the course works. Writing practice, showing not telling. | |
| Day 2: | Characterisation / Plot | Revealing your character, dialogue and style, plot creation and analysis. | |
| Day 3: | Points of view / Beginnings & endings / The 'real' world | What is a 'point of view'?, changing it, endings and their principles. Agents and Publishers, submitting your work. |
